Why do You Need Hygiene Appointments?
Regular professional dental hygiene appointments are essential for maintaining good oral health. This is because our teeth are covered in a sticky film made up of bacteria called biofilm, which can cause gum disease and tooth decay if not removed. If left untreated can lead to gum disease, tooth loss. Plaque biofilm can also lead to poor management of other systemic health related disease such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
Thankfully, modern dental technology has made it possible to receive professional dental hygiene care that is both effective and pain-free. By visiting a dental hygienist regularly, you can ensure that any biofilm buildup is removed, reducing your risk of developing gum disease and tooth decay, and maintaining good overall general health.
